Abstract

In peach plants grown on sand culture iron chlorosis was quick to appear or disappear as the iron supply was made or withheld. Plants needed small but regular dose of iron. Marginal insufficiency of iron produced chlorosis after many months. Peach seedling were found to need only 0.5 to 1.0 ppm of iron in nutrient solution. Once a plant had ceased its meristmatic activity only a strong dose of iron, could reactivate its growth.
