Effect of IAA, NAA, GA3 and 2, 4-D on regeneration of growth and development of plantlets from scale-stem pieces of Hippeastrum hybridum was studied in vitro. NAA proved very effective in promoting growth of root and shoot. GA3, on the other hand, delayed regeneration and inhibited the growth of the plantlets; 2, 4-D at 0.2 and 0.5 mg/1 proved to be toxic.
