Abstract

A field experiment was carried out with young guava trees during 1970–72 to see the effect of 2, 4 and 6 per cent sprays of muriate of potash on yield attributing characters.

Potassium application significantly improved all characters in both the seasons and years. Number of flower buds, physical characters of fruit and yield were increased for applications of upto 4 per cent muriate of potash. Beyond this, there was no significant increase. Quadratic response curves were fitted between yield of guava fruits and rate of potassium application.
