In a trial conducted for three years with K. Chandramukhi and K. Kuber variety of potato, Kufri Chandramukhi gave the highest yield. Although, rabi season gives more return in term of money, it is difficult to substitute rainy season crop with other suitable crop. The difference of average rupees one thousand can be compensated by finding new varieties from existing new varieties coming up. There is great prospect for taking up rainy season crop, with meagre irrigation resources in the plateau of Chotanagpur.
