Abstract

Nitrogen application increased the tuber yield significantly over no nitrogen, during both the years and the maximum tuber yield was recorded at 300 kg N/ha. The tuber yield increased significantly upto 300 kg N/ha compared to lower levels indicating that the nitrogen requirement of D. floribunda was around 300 kg N/ha. Varying nitrogen levels did not influence the diosgenin content of tuber.
