Abstract

Application of thimet 10-G at a rate of 10 kg, 15 kg and 20 kg per hectare revealed that the systemic insecticide in all the treatments checked the appearance of yellow vein mosaic virus. However, 10 kg per hectare treatment increased the plant growth also as compared to other treatment. Hollyhock, being a winter annual was easily potected by whitefly transmitted yellow mosaic virus through proper manipulation of the insecticides since the multiplication of the vector in the extreme winters is almost neglgible.
