Seventy one species/cultivars of citrus were screened for their susceptibility to the infestation of citrus psylla and the incidence of greening disease. It was found that citrus species/cultivars which were either resistant or commercially resistant to the pest were also free from greening infection, where as those species/cultivars which were mildly to highly susceptible to psyllid were showing a very high incidence of greening disease. There appears to be a relationship between the host preference of citrus psylla and incidence of greening under field conditions.
