Botryodiplodia Pod and Seed Rot of Cowpea

B. theobromae was observed on cowpea first time in India. Infected pods and seeds became ash coloured with minute, black pycnidia. Fungus was internally seed borne and hence there was high percentage of pre-emergence mortality. Brassicol and Captan found to be effective in improving the germination of seeds from infected pods.
