The colchiploid of Gerbera jamesonii is rather gigas with large, longer lasting flowers borne on short and thick pedicel. Meiosis is by and large normal with low quadrivalent frequency. The tetraploids are completely seed sterile but they can be vegetatively propagated by reduced rhizomatous stems.
