Abstract

A pot experiment was carried out with mango seedlings cultivar Langra during 1971–73 in order to see the effect of different source and levels of nitrogenous fertilizer on uptake, loss and apparent recovery.

Application of fertilizers in increasing doses increased the removal and uptake of nitrogen by mango seedlings.

The apparent recovery of applied nitrogen decreased with the increase in nitrogen output.

Urea proved belter followed by ammonium sulphate and calcium nitrate respectively with respect to the apparent recovery of applied nitrogen.
