Abstract

Out of three Pineapple varieties, namely Kew, Giant Kew and Queen, the variety Kew was found to be most suitable for Dehra Dun Valley. Calcium Carbide (1 g/plant) and NAA (0.5 mg/plant) effectively induced flowers in Kew variety. In strawberry, out of the Six varieties, namely Phenomenal, Jeolikote Local, Lassen, Tioga, Northest and Black More, the variety Phenomenal was the best. Black polythene mulch helped most to conserve soil moisture in strawberry, leading to higher fruit yield in scanty rainfall year under rainfed conditions.
