Studies were conducted at the Vegetable Experimental area of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana to investigate the inheritance of shape index in the cross Hara Madhu x New Melon and Hara Madhu x Japanese Cantaloupe. It was observed that in both the crosses dominance variance was much more prevalent than the additive variance. The degree of dominance showed over dominance. The heritability estimates were high in both the crosses.
