Effect of Growth Regulators on Growth, Fruit-Set and Yield in Brinjal (Solanum Melongena L.)

Plants of brinjal (Solarium melongena L.) cv. ‘Pusa kranti’ were sprayed with IAA and GA₃ at 0, 10, 25, 50, 100 and 200 ppm. IAA stimulated the vegetative growth upto a concentration of 100 ppm and suppressed at 200 ppm. GA₃ promoted the vegetative growth at all the concentrations used. IAA increased formation of flowers, fruits and yield upto 100 ppm and reduced them at 200 ppm. GA₃ enhanced the formation of flowers, fruits, and yield progressively with increasing concentration.
