Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana
A factorial fertilizer trial was conducted at the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, during 1973–75, to find out the optimum dose of N, P and K for the commercial cultivation of rose cv. ‘Super Star’. The fertilizer doses 50 and 75 gm each of N, P and K during 1973–74 and 75 and 100 gm/plant during 1974–75 were applied. There was no significant effect of different fertilizer combinations on the flower stem length, flower production and bloom size. Thus, it can be concluded that 50 gm each of N, P and K was optimum dose which can meet the requirement of 3-year-old rose bushes.
