Abstract

A survey of 16 vineyards of Bangalore Blue, Anab-e-Shahi and Thompson Seedless around Bangalore was undertaken for their macro and micro nutrient status through soil and petiole analysis. The survey revealed that the organic matter, P and K status of the soils was moderate to high and there is a build up of organic matter and P in the soil. Nutrient status of the petioles were compared with the standard values proposed by other workers. The vineyards surveyed were found to be generally well supplied with N, P and K while the Ca status was low in most of the vineyards. The N and P contents of the petiole of Bangalore Blue were generally lower than in other varieties. The copper content was also found to be low in the variety Bangalore Blue. The zinc status of vines studied was found to be adequate as per standards given by other workers.
