Citric acid and Aluminium sulphate at 250, 500, 750 and 1000 ppm conc, were used with and without NAA, as holding solutions for cut branches of bougainvillea cv. Mary Palmer. The combination of Citric acid (1000 ppm) and NAA (0.5 ppm) gave best results enhancing the vase life from 0.8 to 6 days.
