Abstract

With three Meloidogyne species, viz., M. incognita, M. javanica and M. arena-ria, a high correlation between initial larval penetration and final gall formation was obtained in all brinjal lines which included susceptible, tolerant and resistant types. Infestation by Meloidogyne spp. at the inoculum level of 100 larvae per 250 ml of soil in sterilized soil and its double inoculum level in field soil decreased the number and weight of fruits, shoot and root length, and increased the root weight by 18.81, 22.40,
