Abstract

The experiment was conducted at two locations viz., IARI and Lucknow on Chausa and Dashehari cultivars of mango in order to have comparative idea about the incidence of leaf scorch in two types of orchards.

Study indicated that in general, the levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium decreased, while the levels of calcium, magnesium, sodium and chloride increased from the time of appearance of first symptoms and continued to increase till leaves were half burnt. Two elements viz. potassium and chloride showed different trend of their accumulation. Possible role of these two elements in causing this malady has been discussed.
