Abstract

The present experiment on the effect of factorial combinations of three levels of N and two levels each of P2O5 and K2O on the growth, cropping and nutrient status of five-year-old vines of Thompson Seedless grapes was conducted at Ludhiana during 1973–74.

The vines receiving 0.8 kg each of N and K2O and 1.2 kg of P2O5 had the highest increase in trunk girth.

The treatment comprising 0.4 kg of N in combination with 1.2 kg each of P2O5 and K2O gave the highest yield during both the years. This was associated with petiole contents of 1.16 per cent N, 0.53 per cent P and 3.43 per cent K during 1973 and 1.18 percent N, 0.48 per cent P and 3.12 per cent K during 1974. The highest percentage of juice was recorded in grapes borne by the vines receiving 1.2 kg each of N and P2O5 and 0.8 kg of K2O. The T.S.S. were the highest under the treatment which received 0.8 kg each of N and P2O5 and 1.2 kg K2O.
