Abstract

In male-sterile grape varieties—Angur Kalan, Coarna Rosie, Hur and Katta Kurgan, effect of different pollen parents was studied with respect to per cent berry-set, number of sinker seeds and seed-set frequency. The male parents behaved differently in getting seeded berry in different male -sterile varieties. Highest mean set was found in Katta Kurgan with Thompson Seedless and the lowest in Angur Kalan with Cheema Sahebi. The best combinations with seeded berry-set over 30 per cent were Angur Kalan × Balgalore Purple, Angur Kalan × Cardinal, Hur × Anab-e-Shahi and Katta Kurgan × Thompson Seedless.
