Abstract

Calcium content in Alphonso mango was maximum at fruit-set. It declined continuously upto harvesting except at 20 to 30 days after fruit-set when sprurt in its content was observed. The maximum calcium content was found in upper part of the fruit (122.8 mg/100 g) and near to the skin (142.2 mg/100 g) followed by middle part (119.0 mg/100 g). The lowest Ca content was in the lower part (110.0 mg/100 g) and near to the stone (128.2 mg/100 g). Calcium content in the leaves increased from 1.627 per cent at fruit-set to 1.857 per cent at harvest of fruits.
