Regional Fruit Research Station, Mashobra, H.P.
A long term factorial N P K trial was started at the Regional Fruit Research Station, Mashobra during 1975, on 17-year old Golden Delicious/Seedling apple trees. Fertilizer treatments comprised of three levels each of N (350, 700 and 1050 g per tree), P2O5 (175, 350 and 525 g per trees) and K2O (350, 700 and 1050 g per tree). Observations for two years revealed that significant differences in growth, fruit set, yield, physico-chemical characters and leaf N P K status were observed during the first year under various levels of N, P and K. But during the second year, applications of N P K at 350: 175: 350g per tree respectively produced as good a response on the growth, fruitfulness, yield, physico-chemical characters and leaf NPK status as 1050: 525: 1050 g per tree.
