Regional Fruit Research Station, Punjab Agricultural University, Abohar
A rootstock trial was conducted at Regional Fruit Research Station, Abohar (Punjab) to study the effect of four rootstocks, viz. Jatti Khatti (C. jambhiri), Kharan Khatta (C. karna), Troyer (citrange) and Carrizo (citrange) on vigour, yield and quality of Campbell Valencia sweet orange. Results of nine year old rootstock trial revealed that Jatti Khatti proved to be the vigorous rootstock. Maximum fruit yield and juice content was found to be on Kharna Khatta. As regards the quality aspects such as total soluble solids and TSS/acid ratio, it was maximum in Troyer and Carrizo citranges and minimum in the case of Jatti Khatti.
