Abstract

An experiment was conducted at the S. V. Agricultural College Orchard, Tirupati (A. P.) to compare the pitcher irrigation and basin irrigation systems on snake gourd. For the same quantity of water applied water use efficiency was higher in pitcher irrigation than in basin irrigation method. The yield of pitcher irrigation treatment at four days interval was higher than that with eight days interval. But the water use efficiency was higher in eight days interval treatment.
