Abstract

Post-harvest treatment of Chlorflurenol Methyl Ester 74050 (a morphactin) and benomyl was given separately and in combination to ‘Allahabadi Safeda’ guava (Psidium guajava L.) fruits to study their effect on the shelf-life. Morphactin treatment of 100 ppm was found very effective in controlling per cent CPWL and chlorophyll breakdown while benomyl played dominant role to bring down the per cent rottage. Their combined applications proved to be more effective in increasing the shelf-life of guava fruits.
