Effect of various treatments on extending the post-harvest life of Blood Red (Citrus sinensis Osbeck) fruits at room temperature was studied during 1978. In all 11 different treatments viz., Wax (6 and 12 per cent), Benlate (250 and 500 ppm), 2, 4,-5-T (50 and 100 ppm), 2, 4-D(50 and 100 ppm), 2, 4-D(100 ppm) + Wax (6 per cent), 2, 4-D(50 ppm) + Wax (12 per cent) and control were tried. The fruits were analysed for various changes after 25, 45 and 60 days of storage. The physiological loss in weight was kept to the minimum by wax (12 per cent). The wax (6 per cent) was the next best in reducing the weight loss closely followed by 2, 4-D (100 ppm) + wax (6 per cent) and Benlate (250 ppm). No significant effect was observed on TSS. Total and reducing sugars increased with the extension of storage period. The titratable acidity decreased with the increase of storage period.
