Fruit quality of tomato CV. Roma grown on red sandy loam soils of Tirupati during 1977–78 under different cultural methods and nutrient applications revealed that fruit firmness, pulp colour and titratable acidity were greater, when two top dressings of potash each at 30 kg/ha was applied and the T. S. S. and mean fruit weight of tomatoes significantly increased when the plants were staked and pinched. Fiesh thickness of the fruits was, however, more when 100 kg potash was applied wthout staking and pinching the laterals.
