A preliminary experiment was conducted to study the dry matter production and N, P and K uptake by Dioscorea ftoribunda. The peak period of tuber development falls between August and October. The N accumulation was highest between September and December. The N, P and K uptake in fertilized plots was higher than that of control plots by 373, 70 and 230 per cent respectively. The per cent recovery of N, P and K by D. ftoribunda for applied nutrient was determined.
