Significant promotion of rooting by Ethrel (an ethylene-releasing compound) was demonstrated in mango, guava and waterapple cuttings and air layers in presence of IBA. Ethrel alone was ineffective in cuttings, but promoted rooting on air layers as effectively as did IBA alone.
