Abstract

Sand-culture studies on nutrition of mango were conducted at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana in order to study the effect of N, P and K deficiency on the uptake of other macro and micro-elements. In N-deficient leaves the concentration of B and Fe increased significantly, whereas values of Zn, Mn and Cu did not show any marked change. The uptake of any of the macro elements was not affected significantly by P deficiency. The values of Zn and Mn were normal but those of Cu and Fe were significantly higher in P deficient leaves. The percentage of P decreased and that of Ca and B increased significantly in K-deficient mango leaves.
