Investigations were undertaken during 1974 and 1975 on full grown trees of jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophils Lam.) to observe the effect of invigoration, etiolation and different media on the success of rooting of cuttings. The best result was obtained with invigorated shoots under etiolation and 5,000 ppm IBA treatment. Out of the three media used for planting of cuttings, vermiculite proved to be the best (86.00 per cent rooting and 58.00 per cent survival after one year); sand proved to be worst 70.00 per cent rooting and 43.00 per cent survival after one year.
