Abstract

Coal produced higher yield over control but it was less effective as compared to water hyacinth, rockphosphate and bonemeal alone and in combination of coal. The maximum yield of 97.13 q/ha of red ripe fruits was recorded under the treatment coal + water hyacinth + bonemeal. The protein, minerals and Vitamin- A, B1 and C content of chillies was maximum under the above treatment. The residual effect of the different treatments was noted on the next chillies crop and it was observed that coal + water hyacinth + bonemeal produced the maximum yield of 81.25 q/ha of chillies rich in protein, minerals and vitamins as compared to other treatments and control.
