Abstract

Investigations were undertaken to study the association of ascorbic acid, nucleic acids, protein, carbohydrate and amino acid metabolism during the flowering of J. grandiflorum. Ascorbic acid content, RNA, DNA contents, total amino acids, carbohydrates and protein content showed an increasing trend at the critical stage of flower bud initiation indicating their importance during ontogeny.
