Abstract

An experiment was laid out to see the effect of plant growth regulators like GA (60 ppm); 2, 4, 5-T (5 ppm) and 2, 4-D (2.5 ppm) alone and in combination with heavy fertilization on fruit quality characters like fruit size, T.S.S. and Acidity of Phalsa. It was found that the application of growth regulators increased the fruit size in the beginning of harvesting period. This increase was more marked in treatments with GA. There was reduction in fruit size in GA treatments as the harvesting period advanced. The heavy fertilization had no effect on fruit size. The effect of all the treatments on fruit composition was non-significant under high and low soil fertility levels.
