Experiments were undertaken to study the effect of Ethrel on the sequence of events of flower bud initiation of three banana cultivars viz., Poovan, Monthan and Nendran. Ethrel treatment caused inhibition in the rate of growth of floral axis of the three cultivars compared to control. It also caused delay in flower bud initiation.
