Synergism between IAA and the synergists, indole and caffeic acid in Phaseolus was not influenced by the reducing agents which inhibited the activity of the polyphenol oxidases. Oxidation of auxin and synergist mixture by a polyphenol oxidase preparation did not influence the extent of synergism.
