Ninety mango cultivars belonging to Mangifera indica L. and three other mango species were screened for their behaviour against red rust disease (Cephaleuros virescens Kunze.) under natural epiphytotic conditions during 1978 and 1979 at Horticultural Experiment and Training Centre, Basti (U.P.). None of mango cultivars belonging to Mangifera indica L. was found to be resistant, but 17 were moderately resistant, 19 moderately susceptible, 33 susceptible and 21 highly susceptible. Among mango species, Mangifera cochinchinensis was found resistant and Mangifera combo-diana and M. zeylanica were susceptible.
