Abstract

Pollen of three different varieties of grapes were stored at various relative humidities at 5°C. Viability was determined by in-vitro germination of pollen grains at 27°C. 33 per cent RH has found to be optimum for long duration storage (about 105 days) of pollen of varieties Anab-e-Shahi, Beauty Seedless and Black Champa. An increase in the percentage of pollen germination was observed in these varieties after storage at different humidities. This was upto 20.19 per cent in Anab-e-Shahi, 64.43 per cent in Beauty Seedless and 7.36 per cent in Black Champa.
