The experiments indicated that stone grafting could be done from June to October under the Konkan conditions which gives 55.0 to 64.9 per cent success. The scion shoots must be more than two month old for stone grafting. There was no necessity of prior defoliation of the scion shoots under the Konkan conditions. The success with splice (69 per cent), modified wedge (65 per cent) and wedge (60.3 per cent) was better than veneer method (50 per cent). Because of ease and convenience, wedge grafting has been recommended for commercial application. Mango seedlings less than two week old were found to be better for stone grafting. With this standardized technique about 200,000 mango grafts are becoming available every year in the Konkan region.
