Investigations were undertaken to study the variability in the open pollinated seedlings of the clones Short Point, Short Round, Parimullai, Long Point and Long Round of Jasminum auriculatum Vahl. Flower yield exhibited wide variability with a coefficient of variation of 64.57 to 92.36 per cent. Low variability was recorded for flower bud weight, corolla tube length, flower bud lengh and flower bud diameter with coefficient of variation ranging from 16.31 to 30.15 per cent only. The environmental influence was very high for yield and low for the other characters due to additive influence. The corolla tube length and flower bud diameter accounted for a higher heritability of 90–98 per cent, while the genetic advance was high for yield and flower bud weight. The genetic advance was low for the other characters studied.
