Abstract

Pecan nuts were stratified at 3±1°C for 8, 12 and 16 weeks, incubated in moist sand at 35±1°C for 2,4 and 6 weeks and dipped in GA at 200 ppm for 24 hour before sowing to make a comparative study on their germination. Early and higher germination was most promoted by stratification at 3±1°C for 16 weeks followed by 12 weeks. The stratification may also be substituted for incubation at 35±1°C for 4 weeks.
