Abstract

Oxyfluorfen even at 0.75 kg a.i/ha controlled both dicot and monocot (including Cyperus spp) weeds very effectively in cabbage without affecting the yields adversely. For bottle gourd, fluchloralin at 3.0 kg/ha and butachlor at 2.5 kg a.i/ha proved better than the handweeded control in terms of weed control. Butachlor at 2.0 kg a.i/ha was excellent for water melons both in terms of weed control and enhanced yields. Germination of water melons was adversely affected in case of diuron at 1.5 kg a.i/ha and fluchloralin at 3.0 kg/ha.
