A field experiment on effect of different treatments of pinching, sources and doses of N on the growth and flower production of carnation cv Marguerite White during the year 1978–79. Pinching the carnation plants twice (45 and 70 days) recorded the lowest plant height, whereas highest was observed under control. An increase in number of flower production was recorded under twice and thrice (40, 60 and 80 days) pinching than no or once (60 days). Application of N through CAN recorded highest plant height and higher number of flowers per plant than Urea. Application of N showed significant improvement over control in growth parameters and floral characters, however, different doses (20, 40 and 60 g/m2) did not alter various characters significantly.
