Abstract

A virus causing severe mosaic disease of Tagctes erecta was found to be transmissible by mechanical means as also by aphid-vectors in non-persistant manner. The host range was limited to members of four families out of ten screened. The virus with stood a dilution of 10−2, heating at 50°C for 10 minutes and a storage of 48 hrs. at room temperature (28–30°C). Causal virus, tentatively named as marigold severe
