Leaf cuttings having root initials were prepared from crown splits. Ten to fifteen such leaf cuttings could be prepared from each crown. Treatment with Dithane Z-78 (0.2 percent) gave 100 per cent success in establishment of cuttings followed by Difolatan (0.2 per cent). By using this method crowns can be usefully used for mass propagation of planting material of Kew pineapple.
