The progenies of ten crosses involving promising almond varieties as female parent and SLOH a self fruitful peach × almond hybrid as male parent were assessed for self-compatibility. Out of total of 439 hybrid seedlings only one from tne cross Pethick's Wonder × Sloh was found to be self compatible. The vegetative and fruiting characters of this hybrid have been described in detail. The backcrossing of this hybrid with parent cv Pethick's Wonder and also crossing it with other promising cvs is suggested as the next step in the programme of developing commercial self-fruitful almond cvs for the plains of Northern India.
