Abstract

Investigations on linkage studies in six dwarf French bean varieties were carried out. It was observed that ten linkages are arranged in two groups; (1) Pc-P-pl-ps-V aa (2) Ic-To-Ea-Da. The characters controlled by these genes were: Pc pc, purple vs. green cotyledon, p p, purple Vs. green hypocotyl; pl pl. purple Vs. green first leaf pair veins; Ps ps. pink vs green stem; V vlae, violet vs. pale lilae (pink) flower; aa a, violet striped vs. yellow pod; Icicis, resistance vs. susceptible pod to interlocular cavitation; To to, string vs. stringless pod; Ea-ea, elliptical vs. round pod and Da Fa, straight Vs. curved pod.
