Abstract

The seed borne fungus Botryodiplodia theobromae Pat in brinjal seed remained viable for 4 months, seed for 7 months and culture isolate for 13 months. In cowpea seeds fungus remained viable for 4 and 9 months in two different lots while the culture isolate from cowpea survived for 8 months. The sterioscopic observations and component plating of seed parts of cowpea and brinjal showed the presence of mycelium of the fungus in all the parts.
