Abstract

An investigation was carried out to study the differences between two culti-vars of lemon i.e. Pant Iemon-1 and Malta lemon in respect of their reproductive growth and quality during spring and rainy season flush. Malta lemon had higher fruit diameter than Pant lemon-l during spring flush, but in rainy flush differences in fruit diameter between two cultivars were not significant. Pant lemon-1 out numbered and out-yielded Malta lemon during both the growth flushes. Fruit yield was better during spring than during rainy flush in both the cultivars. Fruit growth, juice content and juice/pericarp ratio revealed single sigmoid type of growth curve. T. S. S. was higher in Pant lemon-l but total Titratable acidity was higher in Malta lemon.
