Abstract

The nature and magnitude of genetic diversity as measured by Mahalanobis's Da statistic was studied for a set of seven quantitative traits in 39 indigenous and exotic cultivars of Dahlia variabilis DESF. The populations were grouped into nine different clusters. The principal component analysis showed that the major portion of variability in the populations was explained by first two cannonical roots.
